Who is Lakeland? Lakeland Co. was founded by Jason Savageau in 2003 after moving to Japan from Minnesota, U.S.A. Minnesota is known as “The Land of 10,000 Lakes” hence the name Lakeland. At Lakeland Co. we combine Midwest and Japanese work-ethic to best serve our customers. We understand better than anyone the challenges foreigners and Ex-Pats have with procurement in Japan. From the layers of middlemen, to the non-availability of certain products, we cut through the fog to provide clarity and value to our customers. We understand the culture-gap experienced by foreigners conducting business in Japan and base our success on our ability to close it. What Exactly Does Lakeland Do? First we Improve Workplaces. We’ve done many hundreds of workplaces over the years and we’re very good at it. By employing our expertise in Space Planning, Interior Design, Lighting Design, Workflow Analysis, Office Furniture, Warehouse Storage Systems, Construction, Custom Fixture Design, IT, and Project Management, we can help you realize major improvements in Office, Warehouse, Retail, Banking, Conference Room, and Control Center Environments. Second, we provide Supply Solutions. We supply construction materials to clients in Japan both U.S. and Japanese Manufacture. Our clients include both the U.S. Military and Japanese Construction Firms doing business in Japan. We can provide localizing services and cost-performance suggestions on using Japanese vs. U.S. Construction Materials and still be within Japanese Construction Standards. We provide a 1-stop shop for our clients looking to purchase these materials in English from people who understand and have experience in the construction industry. For our U.S. Government Customers located in Japan, we also have GSA Schedule Contract Sales Arrangements with various manufacturers. Please contact us for more information.
